Defining Sonarium
Sonarium is an artistic alias launched by Pedro, a young artist and sound designer from Belo Horizonte, Brazil. A project born from a desire to explore sound and identity without limits. The name is Inspired by SONAR, an acronym for Sound Navigation and Ranging, emphasizing the meaningful explorations that he embarks on.
Sonarium represents an experimental journey into sound, drawing from Pedro’s experiences since relocating to Berlin in 2022. Coming from a family of Brazilian musicians and influenced by his country's rich musical heritage, Pedro initially found his voice in electronic music, crafting deep, minimal, and groovy soundscapes. Over time, Berlin’s vibrant and diverse musical landscape inspired him to explore other dimensions of his sonic identity, embracing the fusion of synthetic textures with acoustic warmth.
Pedro’s background is as diverse as his influences. Soon to graduate from Catalyst Institute Berlin with a degree in Sound Engineering and Audio Production, he sees Sonarium as a sound design-focused project where creative freedom takes precedence over rigid genre conventions. The project embodies the harmonious interplay between electronic precision and the organic grooves of styles like jazz, funk, and bossa nova.
The craft of Sonarium comes along in the studio with Mastery. The essence of the project is brought alive from the mix of analog sounding synthesizers, complex recording techniques with acoustic instruments and deeply processed samples. Everything designed to fit into groovy rhythms and immersive soundscapes.
Expect immersive, genre-defying music that celebrates innovation and artistry.
